ALBUM REVIEW & STREAM// C2C – Tetra

C2C is a French turntable group that has won the Disco Mix Club World Team DJ Championship four years in a row (2003–2006) earlier this year they released their first EP “Down The Road” and I have just found a link to their album online.

The album entitled “Tetra” features all songs off the first EP and some new fantastic songs featuring other artists, C2C truly are a group to watch their DJ style is phenomenal keeping the traditional French DJ sound of Justice & Daft Punk alive. It’s hard to review every track of “Tetra” as there is a lot of variety, I wouldn’t expect any less from such diverse DJ’s. They seem to have streamed almost every track of the album via their Youtube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/C2Cdjsofficial

Below I have posted my favourite two tracks and their mix for one of the DJ Champoinships back in 2005:

ALBUM STREAM// Two Door Cinema Club – “Beacon”

When I first heard Two Door cinema club 4 years ago at the Underage festival I was amazed. I thought they were brilliant and so unique and different. They were, however, each song of theirs was not unique and different from the status quo and as soon as the cat on the album cover of “Tourist History” reared it’s little head I wanted to kill them. What were they thinking?! I thought they had so  much promise. They through it all away for the safe option of popularity they did not take one risk. Once again I cannot dispute they deserved to be signed their live performances still somehow drag me in, but their albums just bore me to death.

They have released a stream of their upcoming album “Beacon”, it leaked onto the internet long ago but I could think of nothing worse than bringing back all the disappointment I felt when “Tourist History” was released so I will allow you to judge for yourselves here is “Beacon”:

All I can say for it at the moment is that the songs seem to vary a bit in sound. I think they have tried to employ a bit of Bombay Bicycle Club and  Maccabee’s to their album, listen out for it…

The Antlers ‘Burst Apart’ Album Stream

Little late with the stream I apologise but better late than never.

The album drops tomorrow, keeping ‘Hospice’ out of your mind is advised as not much can follow up a phenomenal album like that. The connection ‘Hospice’ has to ‘Burst Apart’ is quite a contrast, so I warn you if you go in thinking this is Hospice II you will be deeply disappointed. The band has apparently called this album upbeat, but that’s not exactly true; it’s not happy but it is hopeful. This album is more the recovery of Peter Silberman’s broken heart than the Hospice sequel. Nevertheless the Antlers have managed to bust out a few good tracks like ‘Every Night My Teeth Are Falling Out ‘and “Putting The Dog To Sleep,” and those are examples of the Antlers at their best.
